Meet Our Staff

Deitra Fant is the owner and clinician of Connect to Care Counseling Services LLC. Deitra is a board certified Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Virginia, Maryland, and District of Columbia.  Deitra has over 10 years of clinical experience working with adults, adolescents, and children providing case management services, outpatient individual/group therapy, supervising rehabilitation specialists, employment counseling, and working with homeless families in assisting with affordable housing. Deitra prides herself with the innate ability to reach all people who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, and overall life issues. Deitra has mastered coping techniques that all people can use in their day to day lives using new technology and thinking outside the box.  Deitra earned her Master’ degree in Community Counseling from Argosy University located in Arlington, Virginia and Bachelor‘a degree in Rehabilitation and Disabilities Studies from Southern University A&M College located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Deitra's clinical vision is to contribute positive mental health services that improve client's quality of life by empowering them to be the best person they can be without any judgements based on race, or sexual orientation. In addition, Deitra uses several therapeutic modalities including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Reality Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Family System Theory. A holistic, strength based, person centered approach guides her practice.

John Fant  is the Chief Operating Officer with Connect to Care Counseling Services and he brings 18 years of mental health experience . John is a  graduate of North Carolina A&T State University where he received his Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling.  John has served as an ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) Supervisor, Director of PATH (Homeless Outreach program), Mobile Crisis responder, as well as other roles within the public health field.  John is passionate about serving his community through basketball, case management, working with adults living with mental illness, and mentoring.  John is the owner of a mentoring program called Dare to Be More where he mentors young boys teaching life skills. He is also is the owner of Peak Performances Sports Academy where he trains and mentors student athletes providing a holistic approach.
